Can PHG Southampton take short-notice dog walking bookings?

Often yes, depending on diary availability. If a space is available, I will take the booking. The fastest way to check is a WhatsApp message with the date and time you need. If I am fully booked on a specific day, I will let you know straight away so you can plan alternative arrangements. Regular clients get first call on the diary, which is one reason many owners settle into a weekly or twice-weekly rhythm.

Do you walk dogs at weekends and on bank holidays?

Yes. PHG Southampton operates seven days a week including bank holidays where availability allows. Some dates, especially around Christmas, Easter, and summer bank holidays, get booked up earliest, so it is worth messaging well ahead for these. Updates with photos still go out on weekends and holidays the same as weekdays. Bank holiday walks are charged at 1.5x standard rates, with Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day at 2x rates.

How far in advance should I book dog walking?

For regular weekly walks, two week’s notice is comfortable. For holiday-period cover or longer absences, four to six weeks ahead is wise as the diary fills fast. For one-off short-notice walks, just message and I will say yes or no quickly. I would rather tell you straight away than give you false promise. Popular dates like bank holidays book up earliest.

Can I book a one-off dog walk, or do I have to commit to a regular slot?

Both are fine. I take one-off ad-hoc walks when I have space, and regular weekly or daily walks for clients who need ongoing cover. Many clients opt for a regular walking arrangement, booking a regular slot every week. Every service is tailored after our free initial meeting.

How do I book a dog walk quickly?

WhatsApp is by far the quickest option. Message me on 07902 127835 with the days required, time, and your dog’s temperament and name. I will come back to you promptly. You can also phone the same number or email phg.southampton@gmail.com. For new clients, I always arrange a free initial meeting before the first walk, even at short notice where possible, so I can meet your dog and discuss their needs properly.

Do you only take bookings weeks in advance?

Many Southampton dog owners think professional dog walkers only accept bookings with weeks of notice. While advance booking is certainly helpful, especially for regular slots and holiday periods, I will do my vey best to accommodate.. The key is asking. A quick WhatsApp message takes seconds and I will tell you straight away if I can help. Some of my happiest clients started with a relatively last-minute request when their usual arrangements fell through. The worst that can happen is I say no, but you might be pleasantly surprised. Also, please bear in mind that we always need to carry out a meet and greet first, followed by a few trial walks before confirming a regular walking arrangement

Is PHG Southampton right for your urgent dog walking needs?

You will know PHG fits if you value quick, honest communication over false promises. I respond fast to WhatsApp messages and give you a straight yes or no rather than leaving you guessing. If you need someone who operates weekends and bank holidays when most dog walkers take time off, that suits my seven-day approach. Finally, if your dog needs individual attention or you are nervous about group settings, my solo walks and private secured field for group walks offer the personal touch many Southampton dogs thrive with.
